Private tour of Maó
History, architecture and local life
Maó: a city open to the Mediterranean.
Maó is best understood on foot. Its natural harbour, Georgian façades, markets and viewpoints tell a story where Menorcans, Britons, merchants and sailors all intersect. This is a private tour, and we adapt the route to your pace.

The route, told with meaning
01 · PLAÇA DE LA CONSTITUCIÓ
Maó’s historic heart
We start by the Town Hall and Santa Maria. Here we trace the city’s medieval origins, its growth, and the constant relationship between the centre and the harbour.
02 · CARRERS I MIRADORS
The British legacy
Sash windows, colourful façades, words and customs recall the periods of British rule in the 18th century. We also stop at the Pont de Sant Roc, a remnant of the old city walls.
03 · CLAUSTRE DEL CARME
Market, produce and local life
We go into the former Carme convent, now a market and meeting point. We talk about Menorcan cuisine, trade, and how the city is lived day to day.
04 · PORT DE MAÓ
A harbour that changed history
From the viewpoints, we understand why one of the Mediterranean’s great natural harbours drew fleets, merchants and European powers. Its geography explains a large part of Menorca’s modern history.
The special moment
Santa Maria and its monumental organ
We go into the church to discover its architecture and one of the island’s great musical treasures: the organ built in the early 19th century, with four keyboards and more than 3,000 pipes. Admission is included.
